Beads of Rhode Island: Bowenite. This is the state mineral and comes from the Conklin Quarry in Lincoln, RI - the oldest quarry in the US. In 2004 they allowed the quarry to flood, entombing the bowenite forever. They have opened their doors to Sunapee Graniteworks and allowed us to hunt for what remains of this mineral. It is a very cool shade of green - reminiscent of mint juleps.
Beads are sold individually.
